Ask: To promote sustainable change and support regions in achieving racial and economic equity. They aim to achieve this goal by providing a combination of powerful DEI tools and personalized consulting to businesses, organizations, and teams. Beloved places a strong emphasis on empowering marginalized communities and advancing towards a beloved community.

Solution: The platform offers a free tool, the Equity Audit, which allows teams to explore hundreds of indicators on how DEI is currently manifesting within their organization. The Equity Lens Map offers individual members of an organization the chance to participate in their own personal equity journey.

Design Process

Research: We conducted extensive research on DEI and the current tools available for organizations to assess their DEI capacity. We also surveyed organizations to understand their specific needs and challenges when it comes to DEI.

Concept Development: We then developed concepts for the Equity Audit platform, considering the needs and feedback from the organizations we surveyed.

Prototype: We then created a working prototype of the Equity Audit platform, which was tested and refined based on feedback from a diverse group of users.

Refining: We made adjustments to the platform based on the feedback from users, ensuring that the platform was user-friendly, accessible, and effective in helping organizations assess their DEI capacity.

Outcome

Since its launch, the Awa Equity Audit platform has been well-received by organizations and individuals alike. The platform has helped organizations to assess their DEI capacity and to take meaningful steps towards creating more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environments. Additionally, the Equity Lens Map has been a valuable tool for individuals to reflect on their own experiences and to explore ways to contribute to their organization's DEI goals.
